Passing Food Standards for ginseng at the CODEX in Korea

On July 6, 2015, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) announced that standards for ginseng, suggested by MAFRA, were passed through the final review and adopted as global standards at the 38th session of the Codex Alimentaruis Commission (CAC), held in Geneva, Switzerland between July 6th and 11th. The standards for ginseng as food, rather than medicine and medical supplies will contribute to the diversification of export countries and export expansion for Korean ginseng by eliminating technical barriers..
