Philippines: DA, LBP provide cash assistance to Agusan Sur farmers

Rice farmers in the province of Agusan del Sur, whose incomes were affected by the decrease in the prices of palay this year, were provided cash assistance by the Department of Agriculture in Caraga Region (DA-13) through the Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC) and the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP).
A total of 332 rice farmers from San Francisco, Agusan del Sur received cash assistance totaling PHP4.9 million on Monday (October 21), DA-13 said in a statement. The cash assistance is under its Expanded Survival and Recovery Assistance for Rice Farmers (SURE Aid) Program.
Under the SURE Aid, rice farmers were given cash cards loaded with PHP15,000.
