On April 21, 2015, the Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) announced that fixed direct payment per hectare in paddy farming will be increased from 900 thousand won (Korean currency) in 2014 to 1,000 thousand won in 2015. It is to support rice farming income.
